Where will I go for therapy?
I provide telehealth sessions, so you can do the session in the comfort of your home – no need to drive anywhere.
Just cuddle up on your favorite couch with something yummy to drink, maybe with a throw over your lap.
Do you take insurance?
I accept Aetna and Medcost, NC.
I’m an out-of-network (OON) provider for all other carriers. If you have OON mental health benefits, I can provide you with a “Superbill” to give to your insurance to file for possible reimbursement.
How do you take payment?
I accept credit/debit/HSA cards for payment.
Before our initial session, you’ll receive a form where you can designate your preferred card to keep on file (it’s HIPAA-secured). Your card will be charged after each session, and you’ll receive a receipt for your records.
When are you available?
My hours are currently:
Mondays, 10 am to 2 pm
Tuesdays, 8 am to 6 pm
Wednesdays, 8 am to 5 pm
Do you do weekend appointments?
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes long (sometimes, they might go a bit longer).
Completing all the forms before your first session allows us to jump right in when we meet.
Will I talk to you when I call the number or send an email?
Your first point of contact will be my assistant, Susan. She is amazing and has worked with me for ten years.
If you would like a consultation call, she will set it up for you. That’s a Zoom call where we get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit before making your first appointment.
What ages do you work with?
Do you only work with anxiety, trauma, and loss?
Do I need to do something special after the session?
It is a good idea to let your mind continue to percolate in the background while you go on with your day.
If possible, book a massage, craniosacral therapy, or acupuncture right before or after trauma resolution sessions. I can provide referrals.
How will I feel after the session?
Because we will work directly with the body and the subconscious, you might feel tired after a session.
I suggest that you be very gentle with yourself post-therapy with something like a hot shower or bath… or sit outside in the fresh air for a bit.
How long will it take before I feel better?
It is hard to put a specific time frame on how quickly your mind will shift and heal.
But from years of experience, I know shifts will happen quicker than you might expect.
How much talking do I need to do?
Will you make me cluck like a chicken?
Nope! That would be funny, but clinical hypnosis doesn’t look anything like stage hypnosis.
You will probably feel relaxed, and your body will feel either really heavy or really light.
What are you drinking?
What will I see behind you during our sessions?
Will you be the only one in the office listening?
Why do you have a weird accent?
I was born and raised in South Africa. English is my second language, although I’ve spoken it for most of my life.
